Women of color don’t feel safe to speak up.
Whether at work, in our businesses, in relationships, or at the bus stop, most of us are holding back.
And of course we would. Systemic oppression, inequities, bias, exclusion, and societal conditioning are constantly telling us to shut up, stay small, and play by their rules.
When we do that we abandon ourselves piece by piece. Our dreams shrink, our boundaries blur, and our confidence crumbles under the weight of silence and lack of self-expression.
We stay stuck in cycles of overwork, people-pleasing, and perfectionism -- we believe that if we just stay quiet, do the most (to the point of burnout), or avoid rocking the boat, we’ll be seen and valued one day.
But, beloved, the cost is too damn high.
And it’s not just us who pay the price. It ripples out into our communities, our relationships, and future generations.
When we stay small, we keep oppressive systems intact.
When we silence ourselves, we teach those around us to do the same.
When we shrink, the world loses the leadership, vision, love, and liberation that only we can offer.
So what’s the alternative…
You need to stand firm in your ‘fuck no’.
You need to use your voice to defy the status quo and the limiting beliefs that make it impossible for women of color to reach their full potential.
It starts with prioritizing your wellness so that you have the energy and capacity to speak for yourself, for your work, and for other people.
When you can set boundaries to protect your energy and time, speak for the value and impact you bring, ask for the necessary support you need to grow and create impactful relationships… damn… sky’s the limit.
No more chasing perfection. Perfection is the tool of the oppressor.
No more silence in spaces where your voice belongs.
No more fitting into others’ expectations.
No more shrinking to make others comfortable.
No more fear of being too much. Your fullest expression of self matters.
No more people-pleasing. It’s time to honor YOUR needs.
No more feeling like an imposter. It’s time to fucking own it.
No more saying yes when you really mean no. Your boundaries are sacred.
No more settling for less than you deserve. You are worthy, period.
No more holding back your dreams. Because they are the blueprint for the world we need.
It’s time to catalyze some soul-moving, fear-confronting, values-embodying, do-the-damn-thing-daring, and life-upgrading changes in your life.
